First Saturday Serve
On the first Saturday of each month, teams meet at various locations to share God's love in practical ways by caring for the felt needs within our community.
This group is for those who wish to bless others by making a meal. When a family is facing a challenging situation (whether a new baby, health diagnosis, emergency, etc.) and could use some support, my desire is to help provide some meals. When a need arises, I will create a meal train schedule & send it out to all members. You do not need to participate for every need - you can choose what works for you! My goal is to grow the group to easily provide for any need without relying too heavily on any member. This is not a typical small group & will not be meeting together.
Saturday at 9:00 AM
This group is designed to dive into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. We will read the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method. We can't wait to get to know you!

Men who study the Bible.
Wednesday at 6:30 PM
This is an interactive Men’s Bible and discipleship group where men grow in Christ and His Word thru community with one another. We cover books in the Bible related to aspects of a man’s life such as his purpose, roles, relationships, lifestyle, gifts, workplace, money, sex, communications and more! We will learn how to read, study, and apply the Bible so we learn Truth, walk by The Spirit and hear God's voice for ourselves. It will also be a time of prayer, laughter, and fellowship with every few months engaging in a special activity (e.g., have a meal, go to a game, etc.) as well as serve our church and city. We hope you’ll join us in doing life together in Christ!

We are starting a men’s only (for now) small group in which we’ll be getting together on Sunday nights at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, for open gym basketball. All skill levels are welcome and the gym will be reserved for this RV group, specifically. Get in the gym and enjoy some fellowship and fun runs up and down the court for a few hours, followed by group prayer. Competition is great, especially in an encouraging environment, surrounded by men who love Jesus. Let’s form some authentic friendships while collectively missing plenty of shots and turning the ball over dozens of times. Please wear outdoor shoes until you enter the gym, in which then you can switch into your gym/basketball shoes. The cost is $5/person (each time) and their staff prefers cash, if possible.
Monday at 7:00 AM

Join us for an incredibly transformative healing experience in this 11 week small group. Mending the Soul offers a safe and nurturing community for individuals impacted by various forms of abuse, including emotional, psychological, physical, and sexual abuse. You don't have to go through this journey alone. Our group will meet Thursday evenings 6:30pm to 8:30pm, starting on October 3, 2024, through Dec 12 2024 (facilitators: Kathy Ballinger & Michelle Korger; safety and confidentiality are priorities.) This is an informal group meant to provide a resource for moms to find and connect with other moms! Motherhood can be so challenging and isolating and we may not feel seen or understood. This group is meant to connect moms for encouragement, support, play dates, whatever the situation may be! Participants will share their name, contact info, and city of residence so the information can be shared in a spreadsheet with all members. This can then be used to find and connect with moms near you! There will not be a formal weekly meeting, but members are encouraged to contact one another and set things up personally! Some play dates or mom outings may also be scheduled based on interest.
Wednesday at 6:36 PM
So many men are left to figure it all out on their own. It? Life, marriage, identity, purpose, parenting, house stuff, faith, finances, all of it. There are lots of helpful classes, books, and other resources and many are excellent. And, of course, there's YouTube. But sometimes we just need other men to walk alongside us, listen, build us up, and share life. We will be in the wood shop, the kitchen, and at the fire pit. We will create, cook, eat, listen, learn, pray, share our stories. Special speakers will be invited for certain topics. Geared especially for men in 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. (Initially set for 10 weeks, but let's see where God takes us!)

Parenting is a high calling from The Lord!! This small group is designed to build more intentionality in parenting/discipling your children, using biblical principles while training them up in the ways of The Lord. We will look to scripture and prayer to provide an opportunity to encourage and be encouraged by other parents in our group. We will be inviting various different couples who we have identified as parents who lead their families well and get the chance to ask them questions and learn from them as well as read a book on parenting together!
We are starting a new adult small group and looking for couples and singles (multi-generational) that are wanting to find community, grow deeper in their faith, and just do life together. We will be studying the book of Philippians and will meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Our first meeting will be a time to get to know each other with a short intro into the book of Philippians. We'd love to have you join us!

Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But because all Scripture is God breathed and profitable, we must believe that Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible! 2000 years ago, John’s revelation was circulated and read aloud among 7 churches in Asia minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for us today! Join us for this 10 session video Bible study with our teacher Jen Wilkin. Together we will discover how the last book of the Bible speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age.
Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way? Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Let's meet for 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study as Jen Wilkin helps us discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God's great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age. Over half our time will be discussing our study together and other half will be watching Jen Wilkin video for our next discussion & study. We will meet every other week to allow more time to complete your study week's work.
We gather together to work on projects, share a devotional, fellowship, pray and bless our community. You can bring a project of your own or work on one we've already started. Group projects are donated to the community. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. Current projects include tie blankets, loom hats, knitted and crocheted scarves, hats and blankets.
Monday at 6:30 PM
Our group focuses on the weekly sermon. We discuss it in more detail while looking for application ideas we can support each other in implementing. We also look at the sermon through the lens of the annual vision message as we seek the direction Pastor Rob has received for our benefit. There is little to no homework, other than any action items you feel led to implement in your life. Oh yeah, and the snacks are epic too!
Wednesday at 7:00 PM
We will be meeting together on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm to discuss the previous week's sermon. Our desire is for each of us to grow deeper in our walk with Jesus while enjoying the friendship and community of those in this group.
