Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way? Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Let's meet for 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study as Jen Wilkin helps us discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God's great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age. Over half our time will be discussing our study together and other half will be watching Jen Wilkin video for our next discussion & study. We will meet every other week to allow more time to complete your study week's work.

Looking to find community and connect with others in a similar stage of life? Join us as we connect as couples online over zoom twice a month. They say raising kids takes a village and who better than surround yourself with other believers who can encourage and speak truth into your life and marriage. Join us as we dig into different bible studies to grow in our knowledge of God's Word, parenting skills and marriage. We have found that this is a great way for families to get connected with others without the excuse of no childcare. Put them to bed and hop online! (Sometimes we've got a few kids that join their parents when bedtime is a challenge) We will be trying to meet a couple times a small group season in person for family or men/women's fellowship times. Please have each spouse register for the group. Look forward to having you join us! Our group meets over zoom twice a month. We found last year when having to do our group over zoom that it actually worked well for families with little kids to find community in this way (just put your kids to bed and hop on your computer). This study walks through God's incommunicable attributes (characteristics that are only true of Him) as well as His communicable attributes (attributes that we are called to reflect). You may hear us say the phrase “Our Heart is Global” often throughout your time at River Valley, but what does it really mean? In Explore, we walk through the great commission that Jesus gave to his followers before He left this earth. Our mandate is to make disciples from every part of the world. Each and every one of us has a part to play in that, whether it is to pray, to mobilize others, to send or to go! This group is for everyone to discover how God wants to use them to accomplish His great commission. We meet from 6:30pm - 8pm starting on September 9th - November 4. Note: not meeting on September 23rd, due to Sparkle week. No childcare for 0-5yrs old. Elementary programming available.
