Alpha is an intentional place where we can have honest and open conversations about life’s biggest questions. Whether you’ve been a Christian for a long time, you’re new to faith, or exploring Christianity, Alpha is a safe place where you can ask questions and get answers. Each week we will share a meal together as we discuss our topic for the night. Everyone is welcome and no questions are off-limits.

The vision of this small group is to foster an in-depth study of the Gospel of Luke utilizing higher and lower criticisms. The heart of the group is to equip its members in biblical hermeneutics so that they can read the Scripture in proper context. The small group will touch on the synoptic tradition, the historical backdrop of the land of Israel in the first century, and the cultural and spiritual worldview of Second Temple Judaism. The group will read through the chapters of the gospel, selecting the most important section of each chapter. The group will also read the gospel text synoptically, involving similar pericopes from Matthew and Mark to enhance our understanding of the synoptic tradition. At the very heart of it, my hope is that we all become better students of the word and of Christ through this group.

It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Men's Lifegroups. Welcome Home is your first step at River Valley Church. You were created for a purpose, and we want to help you discover that purpose! You will build community, understand how God made you and dive deeper into your walk with Jesus. We can’t wait to meet you! This is a 4-week small group. Once Welcome Home is complete, we encourage you to find another small group where you can continue growing in your faith as you build friendships. We will meet for 4 weeks on Sundays from 11am-noon at the campus. (April 7, 14, 21, 28). If you are have children, they are welcome to go to Kids during group! You can also attend the 9:30am service and then stay for group!

This group is open to any single woman - young or old - who desires to be a part of a community of other single women as they journey together to gain a greater understanding of God's word and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Group members are encouraged to utilize the SOAP method in their daily reading of scripture throughout the week and share during the weekly group session (if desired) how they might be seeing, or have seen, God working in their life. In addition to discussion, weekly group sessions will also include video and other supplemental teachings to gain greater insight into God's word and its applicability in one's life today. New group members can join anytime. And if your relationship status is: "It's complicated," feel free to join us.
