Meals Ministry

Apple Valley

This group is for those who wish to bless others by making a meal. When a family is facing a challenging situation (whether a new baby, health diagnosis, emergency, etc.) and could use some support, my desire is to help provide some meals. When a need arises, I will create a meal train schedule & send it out to all members. You do not need to participate for every need - you can choose what works for you! My goal is to grow the group to easily provide for any need without relying too heavily on any member. This is not a typical small group & will not be meeting together.

Do you love to sing and minister to seniors then please join me! Format of time with residents: Bible Verses, What is the Lord whispering to us, Personal related to the passage, Worship song, simple activation activity and prayer time. We will sing one simple hymn, perhaps someone can play the piano or guitar or we can play it on my phone too. Also help needed to engage the residents in a simple 3-minute activity. Lastly, we will pray for the seniors. We will be done by 11:45 as they have lunch at noon.

We gather together to work on projects, share a devotional, fellowship, pray and bless our community. You can bring a project of your own or work on one we've already started. Group projects are donated to the community. All ages are welcome and no experience necessary. Current projects include tie blankets, loom hats, knitted & crocheted scarves, hats and blankets.

Crosstown

Friday at 6:00 PM

Every Friday River Valley Church partners with the ICCM Life Center. Teams hit the streets of Minneapolis to love our neighbors and build relationships! By joining this small group, you will be able to connect with others from your campus that are serving in this capacity. You can serve as often as it works for your schedule. Schedule: 6:30-7pm - at the Life Center for a time of prayer and worship. 7pm - load up the Life Center buses with food, drink, clothing, and other essentials. We will drive to various parts of the city focused on encampments, bus stops, and shelters. Throughout the night we will meet people, build relationships, and share the love of Jesus while providing food, clothing, prayer, and so much more. 9pm - debrief, testimonies and encouragment. Crosstown

Together for Good offers tangible opportunities to come alongside vulnerable children and isolated parents. Volunteers offer practical help by hosting children during times of parental crisis, providing respite care for exhausted parents, and surrounding families with ongoing relational support through a network of care. This group is for those involved or wanting to get involved in serving with Together For Good.

This group was initiated and will be lead by my 5 year old son (Misha). He shared with me a message he heard from Jesus and wanted to obey Jesus' command. "Mommy, Jesus says we need to pick up trash and save the animals. We need to tell people to do this." He has been very persistent for months that he needed to do what Jesus told him. When he learned that our church has groups, he asked to lead one to pick up trash. We have adopted Apple Ponds Park in Apple Valley and will be maintaining the park once a month. This may include picking up trash, planting flowers, and/or pulling weeds from a planter or around a sign. Misha encourages other kids to join him and to play with him after clean up. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed. We will meet once per month. The time of day may fluctuate depending on season.

Saturday at 9:00 AM

This will be a place for Men of crosstown to be connected to events happening specifically for men, whether it is a serving opportunity, sports activities, or simply a chance to get together as men and sharpen each other. The Idea is that we can grow our ministry here at crosstown by being better connected as a whole. Serve Our Community | Embrace Grace | volunteers from all campuses

Embrace Grace provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support to young, single, pregnant women walking through an unplanned pregnancy through a 12 week program. We are excited for you to be part of this Serve Our Community small group! Involvement and time commitment can be determined on an individual basis. If your heart is to serve those during pregnancy, this group is for you!! Different ways you can volunteer: pray, mentor, teach at the small group, provide resources, pass out information, plan baby showers, administrative, provide a meal for small group, be a representative at your campus, etc!
