First Saturday Serve
On the first Saturday of each month, teams meet at various locations to share God's love in practical ways by caring for the felt needs within our community.
This group is for those who wish to bless others by making a meal. When a family is facing a challenging situation (whether a new baby, health diagnosis, emergency, etc.) and could use some support, my desire is to help provide some meals. When a need arises, I will create a meal train schedule & send it out to all members. You do not need to participate for every need - you can choose what works for you! My goal is to grow the group to easily provide for any need without relying too heavily on any member. This is not a typical small group & will not be meeting together.

Monday at 7:00 PM
You are welcome here! This is a "join at anytime" men's group. If you are looking for a deeper connection with God, this group is for you. God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Small Groups whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. Text the word "promise" to 94000 or use the link below to read more about The Promise Principle and see our weekly reading plan. 's%20promises%20are,trust%20Him%20at%20His%20Word.
Monday at 6:30 PM
This group is a "join at anytime" Bible study specifically for couples. Marriage mirrors God’s covenant relationship with His people. Applying biblical principles to our marriages helps us to have a solid foundation for our families. "A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." (Ecclesiastes 4:12) The goal of this group is to encourage husbands and wives to meditate on the Bible as couples throughout the week and then come together to share what God is revealing to us as it pertains to our marriage. We will have a time of fellowship and snacks at 6:30 and then move into the Promise Principle format from 7:00 - 8:00 for our weekly study. There will be no formal childcare but kids are welcome!
This group is designed to get into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. We will read the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method. We can't wait to get to know you! We will start with the "Take Ground" study guide that is inspired by this year's vision that pastor rob shared in January. We believe that we are going to end the year strong as we take ground as a church and also see you take ground personally
Tuesday at 6:30 PM
We gather together to work on projects, share a devotional, fellowship, pray and bless our community. You can bring a project of your own or work on one we've already started. Group projects are donated to the community. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. Current projects include tie blankets, loom hats, knitted and crocheted scarves, hats and blankets.
Our group focuses on the weekly sermon. We discuss it in more detail while looking for application ideas we can support each other in implementing. We also look at the sermon through the lens of the annual vision message as we seek the direction Pastor Rob has received for our benefit. There is little to no homework, other than any action items you feel led to implement in your life. Oh yeah, and the snacks are epic too!
Serving opportunities will be shared with this group and participants can participate as it works with their schedule and/or interest. No set meeting times or commitments. Emails will be sent out as opportunities become available. Let's radically serve and love our community so that more people will come to know Jesus.
In 2022, Habitat for Humanity will be building 5 new homes in Faribault and River Valley Church is partnering with them to make it happen! Both skilled and unskilled laborers are welcome! (Must be 18+) Signing up for this Small Group will enable you to be contacted whenever we are scheduling a "Build Day" and other updates about the projects and opportunities to serve.
