Welcome Home is your first step at River Valley Church. You were created for a purpose and we want to help you discover that purpose! You will build community, understand how God made you, and dive deeper into your walk with Jesus. We can’t wait to meet you! Once Welcome Home is complete, we encourage you to find another small group where you can continue growing in your faith as you build friendships. There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled, empowered life! This group will instruct, encourage and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit and how they are used throughout the Bible as well as in our own lives. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Childcare will be available.

There are lots of helpful classes, books, and other resources and many are excellent. But sometimes we just need other men to walk alongside us, listen, build us up, and share life. We will be in the wood shop, the kitchen, and at the fire pit. We will create, cook, eat, listen, learn, pray, share our stories. Special speakers invited for certain topics. Geared especially for men in 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. (Initially set for 10 weeks, but let's see where God takes us!)

These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Please note*** It is strongly recommended that you attend the Alpha and Freedom courses before attending Empower. ALPHA IS A PREREQUISITE TO THIS GROUP.

Freedom is designed to equip you to live the victorious and abundant life Christ came to give you. Freedom builds on the foundation of your faith in Christ to help you embrace the truth of God’s Word as it relates to your worldview, your past, your sin, your personal value to God and your purpose in His Kingdom. This group will help you remove every obstacle to having a close relationship with God and walk in true freedom. Childcare will be provided on a limited basis. This is a 9-week group that will meet in the Kids Auditorium beginning on Monday, September 9, and will end on Monday, November 4.
