Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. Arrive at 6pm. If you have children, childcare is provided, you can check them in and drop them off at 545pm. Dinner is provided. Alpha will begin on Tuesday, September 26th in the Lounge. Our group will meet for 9 weeks, ending on Tuesday, November 21st.

Women’s Purity Group

This group is for women 18 and older who want to find freedom through Jesus Christ from love and sexual addiction. The reality is that over 30% of women in the church struggle with sexual addiction. We have also walked that journey and after finding healing and freedom through Christ, can't help but offer others the opportunity to have the same! We know the feelings of shame and helplessness that often accompany these struggles, but we also know the hope that is found in Jesus! While joining a group like this feels scary, Jesus is proud of your boldness to say "I can't do it on my own - I need Jesus and His church to help me!" “I tell you in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who did not need to repent.” LUKE 15:7 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.” HEBREWS 4:16 In community we will gather on Tuesday nights for 10 weeks and walk through the Conquerer Series curriculum, which unpacks the Biblical and physiological steps to freedom. Due to the sensitive nature of this group, we will require that all members sign a confidentiality agreement, remain faithful to doing "homework" each week and missing no more than 2 weeks throughout the duration of the 10 weeks. This will help to keep the group a safe space, foster meaningful relationship, and promote true accountability. Each member will need to purchase a $20 Conquer Series Journal (from puredesires.org), and upon starting the group pay a $10 fee for video content. This group will provide awareness and information and will have action steps for those who would like future engagement.

Men’s Open Gym Basketball

We are starting a men’s only (for now) small group in which we’ll be getting together on Sunday nights at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, for open gym basketball. All skill levels are welcome and the gym will be reserved for this RV group, specifically. Get in the gym and enjoy some fellowship and fun runs up and down the court for a few hours, followed by group prayer. Competition is great, especially in an encouraging environment, surrounded by men who love Jesus. Let’s form some authentic friendships while collectively missing plenty of shots and turning the ball over dozens of times. Please wear outdoor shoes until you enter the gym, in which then you can switch into your gym/basketball shoes. The cost is $5/person (each time) and their staff prefers cash, if possible.
