You are welcome here, come as you are! This is a "join at anytime" men's group. If you are looking for a deeper connection with God, this group is for you. God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Men's Small Groups. Whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. The Good Neighbor program exists to empower the church to walk alongside refugees and immigrants with the love of Christ. Good Neighbors befriend refugees and asylum seekers by providing practical support and life skills to those who have been forced to flee their homelands. Our team will walk alongside a family for one year. Some of our responsibilities will be: * Welcome newly-arriving refugee family through Arrive Ministries’ Reception and Placement program. * Be one of the first faces to greet this family upon their arrival at the airport. * In partnership with the family’s case manager wewill have the opportunity to assist with appointments and help the family learn local systems, all while extending friendship to our newest neighbors. *Come alongside a refugee or immigrant family already living in Minnesota. * Provide support to families seeking asylum.

Every Friday River Valley Church partners with the ICCM Life Center. Teams hit the streets of Minneapolis to love our neighbors and build relationships! By joining this small group, you will be able to connect with others from your campus that are serving in this capacity. You can serve as often as it works for your schedule. Schedule: 6:30-7pm - at the Life Center for a time of prayer and worship. 7pm - load up the Life Center buses with food, drink, clothing, and other essentials. We will drive to various parts of the city focused on encampments, bus stops, and shelters. Throughout the night we will meet people, build relationships, and share the love of Jesus while providing food, clothing, prayer, and so much more. 9pm - debrief, testimonies and encouragment. From time to time, we receive requests for Meal Trains to be organized for families who are transitioning with a new baby in their home, for those who are recovering from illnesses, or those who are overwhelmed with life's challenges or a recent family death. Do you love to cook and want to use your culinary talents to bless others in this way? Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission (Mondays, Sept 25-Nov 13). For this season, free childcare will be offered with limited capacities on a first-come, first-serve basis. **Formerly, Infidelity / Surviving Sexual Betrayal If you found yourself on this page, chances are your relationship is suffering from purity issues. I want you to know YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! As a Marriage Mentor / Women's Mentor here at River Valley and Certified Trauma Life Coach, I have met many women who have battled the effects of trauma from sexual betrayal of a partner. Tru News reports 57% of pastors claim porn addiction is the most damaging issue for their congregations, while 69% say porn has adversely impacted their own church. This same study found that 68% of church - going men view porn on a regular basis. Behind each one of these men is a woman who has been traumatized by the effects of Sexual Betrayal. Porn and purity issues are a problem in our society and even in our churches. In many cases porn leads to even more destructive behaviors including affairs and sexual addiction. Whether through pornography, sexual addiction, an emotional affair, or an actual physical affair outside the marriage, the effects of sexual betrayal are both physical and emotional for a woman whose partner has been unfaithful. My husband and I went through this battle ourselves. With the help of a Small Group study on Sexual Betrayal we have found a deeper relationship with Christ as a result. Our marriage is the strongest it has ever been. With hard work, prayer and dedication to these biblical principles we believe that other couples can have the same success. If you are married or engaged to be married and need help navigating these turbulent waters, and are looking for guidance through biblical principles to save your marriage, I believe this life group / support group can be a safe place to share your feelings and learn how to navigate your future with Christ leading the way. This Small group will be in the format of a biblical study using the work book RESCUED by: Shelly Martinkus, this book can be purchased for $24.99 on Amazon new and used (slightly less cost) designed to help women who have been affected by sexual betrayal in their marriage / relationships. We will be meeting in my home in Apple Valley.
