The Host role is a position for people who are able to connect with new people at River Valley. Their job is to actively seek out those who are new to our church as well as those who seem disengaged. Hosts meet those who are new to the church and show them around the building, answer any questions they have and connect them to other members in the congregation. They also talk to those who seem disengaged, whether they are sitting by themselves or in the auditorium during the time in between services. Hosts genuinely go above and beyond to help people feel welcomed and build relationships with others.
An experienced host is often someone who has been on the greeting or welcome center team, or who works in a relationship-building role in the marketplace and has a good grip on general information about making deeper connections at River Valley.
This team serves on the second week of each month. Please arrive in time to attend team rally at 8:30am, and remember to check in at the kiosk in the Serve Teams Lounge prior to serving. You can expect to spend the time before and after service intentionally seeking out and connecting with new and/or unfamiliar attendees, until approximately 10:30-10:45am.
