What is Water Baptism?
Matthew 3:16-17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.”

Baptism for Kids (Ages 7-11)
We want to make sure your kids understand what baptism is and why it’s important. If your child has made the decision to follow Jesus and wants to be baptized, we encourage you and your child to take our Baptism Milestone Class together! Baptism for Kids Under 7
River Valley prefers for children under the age of seven to wait to be water baptized. We have baptized children younger than seven, after a short conversation with a pastor to make sure the child truly understands the meaning of water baptism. If you are interested in this, please email baptism@rivervalley.org to set up a time for you, your child and a pastor to meet.

We at River Valley also encourage parents with infants or young children to consider Child Dedication. We see this example by Jesus’ parents in Luke chapter 2! This is a moment in our services where parents formally call upon God’s blessing for their children and publicly commit to raising them in faith.
