Kevin and Miriam minister to the unreached tribes of Kenya. Kevin acts as chair of the Assemblies of God commission, which oversees many missionaries and the efforts to plant churches among many of Kenya’s resistant and predominately Muslim tribes. Miriam also focuses on transformational development through after-school clubs and camps.
First Mission
The Smiths were married on December 19, 1992, and the very next day, departed to Africa to begin work in Somalia. They discovered much during their first one and a half years of working among very resistant Muslim tribes in the Horn of Africa—and they learned very early on to trust God despite what they lacked and in the face of hardship, fear, and danger.
Becoming a Missionary
Both Kevin and Miriam were MKs (Missionary Kids) from Africa and from very early on, felt called to work with Muslims.

Patrick works as the coordinator of 4 schools for Bethany International Missions in Brazil and Paraguay, and his role has mainly been to expand the school programs in partnership with other churches and missions. Patrick also helps with supervision and member care for expatriate missionaries in the South American region. Both Patrick and Nedra are writers and will have books published in Portuguese in 2012.

We live in a small town surrounded by over 300.000 residents, yet there is not a Pentecostal church within a 50 kilometer radius. We desire to see this changed.
