FAQ

How can I learn more about what scholarships and discounts are available?

We want to do whatever we can to get your child to camp this summer! Discounts and scholarships are given on a case-by-case basis. River Valley Kids offers discounts for first-time campers, parents who are sending more than 1 child to camp, and single parents. Scholarships are given based upon need and are assessed by our central team. If you’re desiring a discount or scholarship, please fill out the necessary form:

What kind of luggage should I send my child with?

When packing for Summer Camp, please make sure that your child's luggage is labeled with his/her name, and that your child is aware and familiar with what his/her luggage looks like. When we arrive at Camp and unload the trailers, the campers will need to help locate their belongings. You may also want to put a sleeping bag/blankets and pillow in a large garbage bag and label it with your child's name to keep it all together.

What if my child needs to bring medication to camp?

Medication (such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, or any first-aid) needs are provided by the Camp Nurses and you DO NOT need to send these. If your child has any prescription medication, please fill out a form. ALL medication must be in its original and clearly labeled bottle. No exceptions. Place the medication bottle and form in a Ziplock bag and bring it with you to check in. Even if a medication form was previously filled out, it will need to be filled out again because the form must be with your child's medication.

When will we find out what team color my child is on?

A big highlight of Summer Camp each year is COLOR TEAMS! Your child has been assigned to a specific Color Team which will be their team for the week. All children and staff are encouraged to dress in the color of their Color Team. Color teams will be announced via email 2-3 weeks before camp.

Can I send my child to camp with money?

You may send money with your child to Camp for him/her to spend at the Camp Store, Snack Shack, or to give in the offering. Spending money must be turned in at check-in and will be kept safe with the Banker at Camp. Campers will have access to their money every day. Many parents ask us how much they should send with their child and that is completely up to you. The average is about $20. Please do not feel like you have to send money; everything your child needs will be provided.
