We will be studying the book of Philippians and will meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Our first meeting will be a time to get to know each other with a short intro into the book of Philippians. We'd love to have you join us!

We will meet in person on Wednesday mornings from 6:30-7:30am. Each week we'll study the scriptures to grow deeper in our faith as well as encourage one another through prayer and fellowship. We meet at the Chanhassen Lunds & Byerly's Caribou Coffee.

We are called to love our neighbor. In our current culture, however, many topics are leading us to disagreement and separation rather than love. Discussions about race, diversity, and justice feel increasingly volatile and divisive. Rather than looking to politics, pop culture, or social media, we must look to the Word of God as our source of truth. We must find a common ground to bridge the growing divide and bring healing to relationships in our churches, families, and communities. In this group we will seek Christ, learn with an open mind, and build unity through Bible study and listening to the experience of others. In doing so, we will find our common ground in Christ and learn to love our neighbor.
Thursday at 6:30 PM
We will be diving in as couples to study the book of Acts and the power Jesus has given us to accomplish His mission. Rotating meeting schedule as follows: Week 1: Men only Week 2: Women only Week 3: Couples (sitter provided, kids welcome) Repeat.
Sunday at 6:30 PM
This small group (led by Gayle Cousins - assisted by Kim Kissner-Admin) is for all men and women, for the purpose of learning about, and engaging in, intercessory prayer in a corporate setting. This is for anyone interested in this type of prayer whether you have had very little experience or a lot!! We will all learn from the Holy Spirit, and from one another, as to how to "pray in" the Kingdom of God, and to pray what is on God’s heart! There will be a short teaching at the beginning of each session and the rest of the session will be engaging in prayer. We would love to see you there!! We will normally meet on the 4th Sunday evening each month, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm - Feb 12, March 26, April 23, May 28, June 25, July 23, Aug 27, Sept 24, Oct 22 & Nov 26. We are very flexible on the capacity/number attending believing for interest and growth during this year of "Taking Ground!" Prayer is the foundation for the Church, for healthy growth, strength and unity, and for future revival!!

This group will focus on learning what it means to live in community with other believers as we fellowship, dig into scripture, and pray together. We will be going through "Goliath Must Fall: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants" by Louie Giglio. This study focuses on the things in your life that are holding you back from experiencing the freedom and full potential God has for you. We will be meeting every 1st and 3rd Thursday. For our first week, we will be meeting on the 4th Thursday of January. No matter where you are in life, this group is for you.

In this follow-up to our men's purity group, we will be discussing the book, Disciplines of a Godly Man, by R. Kent Hughes. After completing the Clean Curriculum, this book will act as a second building block in our drive for men's purity. It provides excellent, practical knowledge for reinforcing what we learned during Clean. It is requested that, before joining this group, you complete the Clean Curriculum. The next scheduled start time for that class is in April 2023. Disciplines of a Godly Man will take place on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00PM at the Crosstown Campus. The nine-week course will run from January 12th, 2023 to March 9, 2023

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled, empowered life! This nine-week Bible study will instruct, encourage and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Empower will meet Tuesdays beginning January 31 through March 28. Co-facilitated by Jeff & Julie Morton and Janet DeCaster

Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission. For this season, free childcare will be offered with limited capacities on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will be required for each child individually which will secure a spot in childcare for the whole Explore session.

Finances can be a daunting conversation to have with yourself (or with a spouse), especially if you're in a large amount of debt and don't know what to do to get out and on your way to freedom. As Christians we're called to be free from limitations so we can live a life that additive to the kingdom of God based on our appreciation of Jesus' sacrifice. An important way to start the journey of a Christ centered life, of living in personal and spiritual freedom, is in our finances. For those new and old to finances, FPU is an excellent way to refresh yourself on good financial practices, and to start 2023 off in a way that sets you up for financial freedom. Plus, it enables you and your family the flexibility to walk in accordance to your purpose and calling with confidence. FPU is a 9 week program, but our group will go 10 weeks (09Feb2023 - 20Apr2023). The first week will be a meet and greet to get to know one another and discuss what to expect over the proceeding 9 week FPU program. This first week will set us up for incredible personal relationships that will keep you on the right track to financial peace. Although FPU can be done individually, there's immense value in going through it with a group for the added support to invigorate you in your financial journey. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Looking forward to meeting you!

This will be an 16-week study of the Gospel of Matthew in two parts. Precept is an inductive in-depth Bible study method including self-study and weekly group discussion. It is a global ministry based out of Chattanooga, TN and founded by Jack and Kay Arthur in 1970. Matthew is the first of the four gospels, originally directed to a Jewish Christian audience. Participants should purchase their own workbooks directly from the Precept website at precept.org/Shop/By book of the Bible/New Testament/Matthew/Precept Upon Precept or In-and-Out/ESV or NASB Workbook/Part 1. You can choose either the Precept Upon Precept study requiring about 5 hours of private study time per week ($15.75) or the In-and-Out method requiring about 2.5 hours per week ($12.25). Allow 7-10 days for workbook delivery. Our first meeting on 2/15 will just be group member introductions and a review of the Precept study method. Our first real lesson will be on 2/22.

We are starting a men’s only (for now) small group in which we’ll be getting together on Sunday nights at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, for open gym basketball. All skill levels are welcome and the gym will be reserved for this RV group, specifically. Get in the gym and enjoy some fellowship and fun runs up and down the court for a few hours, followed by group prayer. Competition is great, especially in an encouraging environment, surrounded by men who love Jesus. Let’s form some authentic friendships while collectively missing plenty of shots and turning the ball over dozens of times. Please wear outdoor shoes until you enter the gym, in which then you can switch into your gym/basketball shoes. The cost is $5/person (each time) and their staff prefers cash, if possible.

You are welcome here! This is a "join at anytime" men's group. If you are looking for a deeper connection with God, this group is for you. God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Men's Small Groups. Whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. Click here to read more about The Promise Principle and see our weekly reading plan: http://leaders.rivervalley.org/promise
Serving opportunities will be shared with this group and participants can participate as it works with their schedule and/or interest. No set meeting times or commitments. Emails will be sent out as opportunities become available. Let's radically serve and love our community so that more people will come to know Jesus.
