Alpha | CITY Winter 2024

Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? Each week we will begin our time together with a meal, followed teaching and discussion. Our group will meet weekly at our campus on Wednesdays February 7 thru April 10, 6:00pm-8pm. Doors open, check in and food for this group will be available beginning at 6pm. We will conclude our group by serving together on our 11th week - Wednesday April 17 at 7pm in Coon Rapids (ages 5+ are welcome to attend)

Alpha | Woodbury Winter 2024

Alpha is an intentional place where we can have honest and open conversations about life’s biggest questions. Whether you’re new to faith, exploring Christianity or a bit put off by religious conversations, Alpha is a safe place where you can ask questions and get answers. Each week we will share a meal together as we discuss our topic for the night. Everyone is welcome and no questions are off-limits. Arrive at 6:15pm. If you have children, childcare is provided; you can check them in and drop them off at 6pm. Dinner is provided, but if you have food allergies, plan ahead and eat your own food. Alpha will begin at 6:30pm and go until 8:00pm. This group starts on Monday, February 5th, in the Main Auditorium. Our group will meet for 9 weeks, ending on Monday, April 8th. Also, mark your calendar for the Holy Spirit Retreat on Saturday, March 16th.

Empower | Pat + Angela Franey | Winter 2024

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled, empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Empower will meet every Thursday beginning February 8th through April 4th, 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Please note*** It is strongly recommended that you attend Alpha before attending Empower.

Explore | City Winter 2024

Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission. Our group will meet weekly for 8 weeks at our campus on Tuesdays February 6 thru March 26, 6:30pm-8pm. Doors open & check in will be available beginning at 6pm. We will conclude our group by serving together on Wednesday April 17 at 7pm in Coon Rapids (ages 5+ are welcome to attend)

Freedom is a Core Group that equips you to live a victorious faith. Sometimes, we are simply unaware of lies we believe and wrong patterns of thinking that keep us stuck. In this group, you will discover how to move forward to greater freedom in your life, faith, and future by taking a deeper look at your identity in Christ. Our group will meet weekly at our campus on Wednesdays February 7 - April 3, 6:30pm-8pm. Doors open and check in will be available beginning at 6pm. We will conclude our group by serving together on Wednesday April 17 at 7pm in Coon Rapids (ages 5+ are welcome to attend)

Freedom is designed to equip you to live the victorious and abundant life Christ came to give you. Freedom builds on the foundation of your faith in Christ to help you embrace the truth of God’s Word as it relates to your worldview, your past, your sin, your personal value to God and your purpose in His Kingdom. This group will help you remove every obstacle to having a close relationship with God and walk in true freedom. Freedom will meet every Monday starting February 5th and ending Monday, April 8th. Childcare is available.
