Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. We will meet for 9 weeks at 11am at the campus.
Wednesday at 6:30 PM
Join us in uplifting the Church, missionaries, nations, tribes and unbelievers in prayer, that God will intervene according to His Riches in Glory. Prayer is a fundamental tool in taking ground in every aspect of our lives. Let us stand before the Lord in the gap on behalf of the land (Ezekiel 22:30). Mathew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 1 Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage, experience and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit and how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Are you ready to get started? Empower is open to anyone at River Valley that has been through our core groups Alpha and Freedom. If you have not done 1 or both of them yet, we would strongly encourage attending those small groups before attending Empower. It will be helpful to you for receiving what God has in store for you. Empower will meet on campus on Tuesday nights, 6:30pm-8pm, from September 26 thru November 21.
Thursday at 7:00 PM
The goal of this small group is to enjoy the Minnesota Summer and unpack the show The Chosen together. Each week we will watch an episode (with each other outside of Thursdays or on your own) and discuss what happened along with the biblical context. The remaining time will be for yard games, walks, picnics, beach hangs, outdoor sports, etc - building community while enjoying the weather! We will meet at parks centrally located for the majority of people when the weather permits - so bring a lawn chair or blanket if you have it! If the weather does not allow to be outside, we will meet at Ashley or Sydney’s house. Looking forward to hanging with you and spending more time outside together! Let us know if you have any questions at all.
Saturday at 10:00 AM
We will be serving one time a month with Naomi's Family Shelter in St.Paul (one Saturday morning each month from about 10am- 12:30pm)
Serving opportunities will be shared with this group and participants can participate as it works with their schedule and/or interest. No set meeting times or commitments. Emails will be sent out as opportunities become available. Let's radically serve and love our community so that more people will come to know Jesus.
Wednesday at 6:30 PM
Join us for a casual get-together to grow in faith and community with each other! We will plan to meet in South Minneapolis to discuss SOAP and come together in prayer. We look forward to embracing the summer season with you through game nights, potlucks, and studying God's word. Join Jessica Stewart and I on Wednesday nights through the end of August! The plan is to meet on the east side of Lake Hiawatha (near the beach). Address to the park is: 2701 E 44th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406.
