Alpha | Apple Valley Fall 2023

Tuesday at 6:00 PM

Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. Arrive at 6pm. If you have children, childcare is provided, you can check them in and drop them off at 545pm. Dinner is provided. Alpha will begin on Tuesday, September 26th in the Lounge. Our group will meet for 9 weeks, ending on Tuesday, November 21st.

Disciples Making Disciples

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? This group is going to model the ministry Jesus did with his disciples. We will spend time each week reading the Bible, holding each other accountable and engaging with lost people. This group will challenge you to grow personally and to engage with people in your communities. This is the mandate Jesus gave us, to go and make disciples! Let's accomplish that mission together!

DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a biblically based, Christ-centered support group seminar. Each session shows a 30-minute video followed by a small group discussion about the video. The DivorceCare videos present experts, ministers, and Christian counselors discussing divorce-related issues such as depression, anger, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Real people share their stories of how they deal with the pain and heartbreak of divorce and separation. During the week between meetings, group members complete a daily Bible study and practical exercises to help them heal from their hurt and pain. DivorceCare is for people who are separated or divorced.

Empower | Apple Valley Fall 2023

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled, empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Empower will meet every Monday beginning September 25th through November 20th, 6:30 to 8:00. We will be meeting in the Lounge. Please note*** It is strongly recommended that you attend the Alpha and Freedom courses before attending Empower.

At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission. Explore will meet every Tuesday beginning on Tuesday, September 26th and ending on Tuesday, November 21st, Dinner is not provided. Childcare is provided and parents can drop them off at 6:15pm.

Looking to find community and connect with others in a similar stage of life? Join us we connect as couples with young kids. They say raising kids takes a village and who better than surround yourself with other believers who can encourage and speak truth into your life and marriage. Join us as we dig into different bible studies to grow in our knowledge of God's Word, parenting skills and marriage. Our group meets over zoom twice a month. We found last year when having to do our group over zoom that it actually worked well for families with little kids to find community in this way (just put your kids to bed and hop on your computer). We will be trying to meet a couple times a small group season in person for family fellowship times. Please have each spouse register for the group. Look forward to having you join us!
