First Saturday Serve
On the first Saturday of each month, teams meet at various locations to share God's love in practical ways by caring for the felt needs within our community.
Serving opportunities will be shared with this group and participants can participate as it works with their schedule and/or interest. No set meeting times or commitments. Emails will be sent out as opportunities become available. Let's radically serve and love our community so that more people will come to know Jesus.
Friday at 6:00 PM
Our small group will meet twice a month. Once to serve our city on Friday evenings with ICCM Life Center on Street Team. The second meeting will be to gather on a Saturday morning for coffee, breakfast, and reading the word together & praying for our city, a missionary in the field abroad, and the people we meet on street team. God called me to start taking notes of the people I met on street team and praying for them regularly. If you are wanting to pray for others and/or share the good news of Jesus. I encourage you to pray about if this group is right for you!

It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Small Groups Whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. The Promise Principle is a powerful tool to teach men how to hear the voice of God through reading the Bible. It calls men to a daily God connection in which He speaks clearly through His Word and promises transformation, power, and direction in our everyday lives, (Romans 12:2, 2 Peter 1:3-4). Each week we will meet on Thursday mornings from 6:30-7:30 AM, Mugshots Coffee in Bloomington. Go through that weeks bible chapter together. This group is designed to get into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. To start this fall off we will do a 7 week study on Ruth. We meet weekly on Tuesday mornings at 9am. We can't wait to get to know you!
As Christians, we often have a difficult time making sense of the Old Testament. One of the best ways to become familiar with this is to read and discuss the text in community. This Bible study is simply to come together and read, engage, and discuss the first five books of the Old Testament (the Torah).
Trust is the one thing that changes everything, says Stephen M. R. Covey. Whether you are trying to recover from trust-breaking behaviors in the past or want to invest in your most important relationships for the future, this 7-week small group will help you implement five key practices you need to enjoy the benefits of being a trusted man. Some tough truths about trust: — Too many men who are trustworthy are not trusted. It is dangerous to assume you are trusted by others just because you feel you are trustworthy. — You do not know how trusted you really are until the relationship encounters risk or a crisis. — Relational interactions are never neutral. Unless you know how to build trust intentionally, trust is probably eroding—because you're like every human that makes mistakes. The good news is that in the same way relationships improve when you can speak another person's love language, trust grows when you can take your eyes off yourself and discover how to act in a way that resonates with what the other person values. This small group is open to all men, but will especially benefit men who are single (unmarried or divorced), engaged, newly married, or have children. The content is accessible to anyone on his faith journey and also to the unchurched (if you want to invite someone not attending River Valley). This 90-minute small group will have a significant amount of interaction to maximize personal growth: — 30 minutes with a few others to share wins and challenges from the previous week — 30 minutes to learn new Trusted Men content through live instruction and then ask questions — 30 minutes of guided conversation in small groups to discuss how each person can implement that week's content in two important relationships Take a 7-week journey with others seeking to be Trusted Men so that you can be building trust intentionally, and not just think you have it or deserve it.
Do you ever feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely? Best selling author Lysa Terkeurst will walk us through the Biblical depth, gut- honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit. We all have felt these feelings. Let’s learn how to handle these feelings according to the Bible.
